ACCOUNTANT – MANUFACTURING
Location: Croton-on-Hudson, NY
Compensation: $90,000+ (Depending on Experience)
Seeking a highly detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage the complete accounting cycle for a stable, long-established manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role supporting the Controller, who reports to the CFO. The position is the third role within the finance department and operates independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role requires strong knowledge of GAAP, hands-on payroll experience, and experience working within an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Epicor experience is preferred, though candidates with comparable ERP backgrounds will be considered.
Manufacturing experience is preferred; however, candidates from other industries with strong full-cycle accounting experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for the manufacturing operation
- Process payroll using ADP and ensure payroll compliance
- Maintain the general ledger and perform journal entries
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow activities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
- Track fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules
- File sales tax returns and support regulatory reporting requirements
- Support financial, ISO, and workers’ compensation audits
- Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and internal controls
- Provide operational and reporting support to the Controller
- 5+ years of accounting experience or Full-Charge Bookkeeper experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience with ADP payroll processing
- ERP experience required; Epicor strongly preferred
(Comparable systems considered, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Infor, Sage, Acumatica, IFS Cloud, or Plex) - Strong understanding of GAAP and the full accounting cycle
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience working in a union environment (helpful but not required)
