One of our clients, a manufacturing company  is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Sustaining) to join their dynamic engineering team. Sustainment engineering involves developing processes and systems for effective product management after a launch. Duties include taking lighting future  fixture designs from prototype to production. You’ll be responsible for mechanical design, component integration (such as LEDs and optics), simulation and analysis, and working directly with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and scalable production.

Ideal Candidate:

·        Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field BSME

·        Proven experience with product design and sustaining engineering

·        Proficient in CAD software and simulation tools

·        Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability

·        Experience with lighting systems or electromechanical products a plus

·        Hands-on, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator

Key Responsibilities:

·        Design and develop mechanical components and systems for lighting fixtures

·        Integrate components including LEDs, optics, and mechanical parts

·        Perform simulations and engineering analysis

·        Support testing and validation of product performance

·        Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure quality and production readiness

·        Optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability

·        Maintain and update bills of materials (BOMs) and design documentation

Sustaining Engineering spans those technical tasks (engineering and logistics investigations and analyses) to ensure continued operation and maintenance of a system with managed risk; involves the identification, review, assessment, and resolution of deficiencies throughout a system's life cycle.
