Key Qualifications:
- CPA license required; advanced degree in tax, law, or accounting preferred
- 5–10 years of experience in a public accounting firm, with a focus on trusts and estates
- Strong leadership and client-facing skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in problem-solving
- Proficient in tax software, trial balance tools, spreadsheets, and research platforms
- Familiar with GAAP, FAS, SAS, GAAS, and general ledger structures
- Prepare and review estate and trust fiduciary accountings and related tax filings
- Lead fiduciary accounting services and coordinate with attorneys, courts, and fiduciaries
- Oversee general trust and estate administration, including distributions and recordkeeping
- Manage judicial and non-judicial accountings and participate in quality control reviews
- Advise on trustee and executor actions, including investment and funding analysis
- Compute trustee commissions, unitrust/annuity payments, and tax estimates
- Support the final settlement and closure of trusts and estates
- Interpret governing trust documents to ensure proper accounting allocations
