Village Vets is looking for a receptionist, previous animal experience is recommended but not required. Patient care, ability to collaborate with the team, and kindly communicate with owners and staff when needed are of utmost importance. Applicants must be competent in computer skills as a large portion of the job will be centered around electronic medical records (Shephard) and handling the day to day client communication via the pet portal and email. Training will be provided. Applicants must be kind, compassionate, and overall maintain a pleasant attitude while answering the phones promptly. Applicants must be dependable, able to multitask as well as treat clients and patients with kindness and respect. There will be a component of the job that will focus on humane euthanasia (both in clinic and at home) so applicants must be compassionate and be able to handle sensitive situations and conversations. Monitoring of day to day operations (to include cleaning exam rooms and ensuring the hospital and reception/ lobby is in a tidy state) and overall first impression will largely fall on the client care representative.

- Willingness to work with doctors and support staff well.
- Kind and compassionate attitude towards all clients with an eagerness to build each client's relationship with the clinic in a positive way.
- Remain calm during difficult interactions.
- Great computer skills (email, uploading, scanning, etc); we are a paperless practice.
- Multitask and be able to promptly answer phones, check clients in and direct them to appropriate rooms/ waiting spaces, as well as manage the email and communications between the patient portal.
- Take detailed messages and be willing to return phone calls within the scope of your knowledge, as directed by LVTs and Doctors.
- Keep the lobby, reception and exam rooms clean and tidy.
